Alma Laser
Do I need to do anything prior to my appointment?
3-7 days prior to your appointment we recommend:
- Take 1,000 mg of Milk Thistle two times a day; in the morning and before bed is ideal. This helps support the liver break down and expel the lipids in the body. This can be purchased at our office.
- Begin drinking water to hydrate your body.
- Refrain from caffeinated, alcoholic and carbonated beverages.
- Reduce the amount of saturated fats, high glycemic and refined carbs in your diet.
- You can also get a compression garment such as a waist trainer, or a contouring undergarment that will fit snugly to the body to wear before and immediately after your session.
- Refrain from putting any lotions and oils on the area 1 day before and the day of.
1-2 hours before your appointment time:Â
- Drink a minimum of 16 oz of water.
- Take milk thistle and refrain from eating any food
- Please wear or bring clothes that you are comfortable in. During this appointment, we use oils, in which they may stain your clothing.
- Bring compression wear
What do I need to do for my appointment?
During your appointment:Â
- We ask that you wear appropriate under garments (Sports bra, boxers, etc.)Â
- Pictures and measurements will be taken to keep track of progress.
- Please refrain from wearing any makeup, lotions, oils, moisturizers etc during your appointment.Â
Are there any contraindications for this treatment?
Yes, this is why we require an initial appointment with one of our Vitality providers before your ALMA treatment to choose the best service for you and your desired outcomes. If you are unable to use the ALMA laser, we offer other non-invasive services that may be better for you. Some contraindications for the RF & US treatment include:
- Systemic high blood pressure (Systolic pressure >140mm/Hg and diastolic pressure > 95mmHg)
- Glaucoma
- Pregnancy or IVF Procedure
- Skin conditions / irritated skin
- Phlebitis and blood clottingÂ
- Cancer
- Hormonal therapy existing or history of skin malignancy
- Active collagen or vascular disease
- Recent (less than 6 months) use of Isotretinoin (Accutane)
- Implantable pacemaker or automatic defibrillator/cardioverter (ACID)
- Large dental metallic prosthetic implants
- Multi systemic diseases (diabetes, hypertension, coronary artery disease, renal insufficiency, etc)
